Who we are

Dubai Watch is a UK-based human rights watchdog – it Alerts, Informs and Advises tourists, expats, businesses, investors, on the facts, risks and dangers associated with travelling to, moving to, investing in and doing business in Dubai, the wider UAE and the Gulf Region.

We work to investigate, document and publicise abuses that often go unreported – especially those involving business people, foreign investors, women and children, political prisoners and the legal system.

Our team consists of human rights advocates, qualified legal experts, journalists and researchers with a shared mission: to bring transparency and accountability to one of the world’s most opaque regions.

Dubai Watch was founded by leading women’s rights advocate, academic and writer, Aisha Ali-Khan, and leading international human rights lawyer, crisis manager and broadcaster, David Haigh.

Between them, Aisha and David have decades of experience in dealing with matters relating to Dubai and the wider UAE. They have advised and assisted everyone from the wives and daughters of the rulers of Dubai and the wider UAE, such as HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Emirati and foreign business people, local and international law firms, international business, expatriates and tourists, charities and NGOs, film and documentary makers, journalists and media personalities, while also advising on UAE policy for the French and the British governments.

If you can laugh together, you can work together.
